Product Information
Product Description
The Rudraksha fruit comes from the tree known as Elaeocarpus ganitrus, which grows mainly in regions like Nepal, India, Indonesia, and parts of Southeast Asia.
🍈 How the Fruit Looks
The fruit is round or oval, similar to a small berry.
When fresh, it is green in color.
As it ripens, it turns blue or bluish-purple (sometimes called “blueberry bead,” though it’s not edible like a blueberry).
Size ranges from about 1–3 cm depending on origin.
🧱 Inside the Fruit
The outer layer is a soft pulp.
Inside is a hard seed (stone) — this is what we call the Rudraksha bead.
The bead has natural lines called “mukhis” (faces).
🔄 Process from Fruit to Bead
Fruits are collected when ripe.
The outer pulp is removed by soaking or drying.
The inner hard seed is cleaned and dried.
The seed becomes the Rudraksha bead used in malas and jewelry.
🌿 Tree Description
The Rudraksha tree is tall (up to 50–80 feet).
Leaves are long and shiny.
Flowers are small, white, and fragrant.
Fruits grow in clusters.
🔱 Spiritual Importance
In Hindu belief, Rudraksha beads are connected to Lord Shiva.
The bead from the fruit is used for meditation, prayer (japa), and wearing for spiritual benefits.
The fruit pulp is generally not eaten.
Only the seed (Rudraksha) is used for religious and spiritual purposes.
